Euros Final 2024

England’s Men’s team make the final of the Euros to try again to bring football home. All across the country fans gathered in pubs and bars to watch the game with baited breath.

In Liverpool the atmosphere was tense. There was an uneasy quietness. Down a small side street in the city centre, a small Spanish café opened its doors to the a crowed of passionate excitable gathering of die hard Spaniards to watch the game. As the end of the game approached, the air became electric, both sides had scored, people were nervous, on the edges of their seats.

Then came the decisive goal from Mikel Oyarzabal. With minutes to spare the fans in the little café exploded with joy, spilling on the streets to dance in jubilation. And I was lucky enough to be among them.
